Pastoral Companion Residential Aged Care Volunteers

We are looking for a special people to offer a pastoral and spiritual care presence within AnglicareSA’s Residential Aged Care services.
As a Pastoral Companion, you will be contributing to a positive ageing approach by assisting the Lifestyle team through meaningful aging and spiritual care conversations and interactions which engage residents and respect individual choice.
The Pastoral Companions duties and responsibilities:
- Visit residents, offering one on one conversation and interaction.
- Encourage residents to engage in areas of interest that are meaningful and fulfilling.
- Record & review conversations in designated Pastoral Companions communications book.
- Available to volunteer one day a week at any of our sites. In the North, Elizabeth East and Elizabeth Dutton or Westbourne Park, South of the City.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a welcoming friendly manner.
- Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work with empathy, compassion and in a non-judgemental and respectful manner.
- Ability to use initiative and work within boundaries, procedures and guidelines.
- Be suitability fit to comply with the physical requirements of the position.
- Willingness to participate in the role specific Spiritual Training and complete AnglicareSA’s pre-volunteering National Police Check, registration and induction.*Costs covered by AnglicareSA.
